RAFC HISTORY: The Early Years Riverside originally started out as an offshoot of the Intruders men's soccer team. The Intruders were well known for flagrant fouls and bad uniforms. This can be seen in some of the archival photos below.
Make note of the orange pumpkin strip and the all black strip with the softball uniform strip. These were carefully selected by the then player manager Larry Thompson. It was slowly becoming obvious that there needed to be a change, at least from a fashion standpoint. This occurred in 1985 with the passing of the leadership to Skip Henson. |
